How Our Garden Bloomed

The couple

Rose and William's love story began in the most fitting place imaginable – a community garden on a sunny Saturday morning in late spring. Rose was tending to her beloved heirloom tomato seedlings when William, new to gardening and slightly overwhelmed, approached her plot with a wilting basil plant and a sheepish smile.

"I think I've managed to kill this poor thing already," he confessed, holding up the drooping herbs. Rose laughed – a warm, genuine sound that made William's heart skip – and immediately offered to help. What started as a gardening lesson turned into hours of conversation about everything from the best companion plants to their shared love of farmers markets and homemade bread.

Their relationship grew as organically as the vegetables in their side-by-side garden plots. Sunday mornings became their time – harvesting vegetables together, sharing thermoses of coffee, and planning elaborate meals with their fresh produce. William learned to braid garlic and preserve herbs, while Rose discovered his talent for building beautiful raised beds and trellises.

Two years later, on the anniversary of their first meeting, William proposed in that very same garden – surrounded by the tomato plants they'd grown together, with a ring he'd hidden inside a handmade wooden seed packet. Rose said yes before he'd even finished asking, and they celebrated with their first harvest of the season.

Now they're ready to plant new roots together, and they can't wait to celebrate this next chapter with everyone who has helped their love grow.

Garden Party Questions

What should I wear to a garden wedding?

We're embracing the rustic, natural setting! Think garden party elegance – flowing dresses, linen suits, and comfortable shoes you don't mind getting a little grass-stained. Avoid stiletto heels as we'll be on grass and garden paths. Earthy tones, florals, and natural fabrics would be perfect!

Will the ceremony and reception be outdoors?

Yes! Both ceremony and reception will be in the beautiful gardens at Willowbrook Farm. We have a charming barn available in case of rain, but we're hoping for sunshine and gentle breezes.

What if it rains?

The farm has a beautiful rustic barn that we can use for shelter. We'll have umbrellas available and the gardens are magical even in a gentle shower! Don't let a little rain worry you – it just makes the gardens smell even more wonderful.

Are children welcome?

Absolutely! Children are very welcome at our garden celebration. The farm is a safe, enclosed space perfect for little ones to explore. We'll have some garden activities and space for them to run around safely.

Is there parking at the venue?

Yes, there's plenty of parking in the farm's meadow field. We'll have someone directing cars when you arrive. It's about a 3-minute walk from the parking area to the gardens along a lovely tree-lined path.

Can I help in the garden or with preparations?

How sweet of you to offer! We'd love help with small touches like picking flowers for centerpieces the morning of the wedding. If you'd like to contribute, please let us know when you RSVP.

What time should I arrive?

Please arrive by 3:45 PM for welcome drinks in the herb garden before the 4:00 PM ceremony. This gives everyone time to find their seats and soak in the garden atmosphere.

When do you need my RSVP?

Please respond by June 15th, 2025, so we can plan our garden feast and seating arrangements.

Will there be vegetarian/vegan options?

Absolutely! Our farm-to-table menu celebrates vegetables and we'll have wonderful plant-based options. Please let us know about any dietary requirements when you RSVP.

How can I contact you with questions?

Please reach out to Rose at [email protected] or William at [email protected]. We're always happy to chat about our garden celebration!
